The controversial novel by Raja al-Sanea first came out in 2005 and became a sensation right away. Running on an Arabian-tale high, I picked this one up after reading Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia, and Girls balanced the weighty after-effects of Princess quite well. Given the furore, it might have been simpler to leave Girls of Riyadh on the e-shelf and go for one of the more universally accepted translations on my list. Girls of Riyadh is an inside peek into the lives of these four educated University students and the book unfolds as a series of e-mails sent out to a yahoogroup, chronicling the events from the lives of each girl. 'Girls of Riyadh' is a novel by a young Saudi woman Rajaa Alsanea. I have recently finished reading the Girls of Riyadh by Raja' al-Sani That made me think a lot It may be a best-seller book, I do not CARE. The book Girls of Riyadh is one of the few true Saudi bestsellers.
